MARAWI CITY, Mar 25 (PIA) — Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra cited the importance of discipline among residents in curbing the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Gandamra encouraged the residents to follow the Enhanced Community Quarantine guidelines and policies implemented in the city and Lanao del Sur province.
“Kung walang disiplina ay hindi maaddress, mas lalo lumalala ang problema. Kung tayo po sama-sama at iiobserve ang disiplina ay sigurado na itong problema ay maaddress natin,” said Gandamra.
[Without discipline, we cannot address it, the problem gets worse. But if we observe discipline, rest assured that we can address this problem.]
Gandamra recently issued an executive order changing the curfew hours in the city to 6:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This is to limit the number of people going out and to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, senior citizens, minors age under 18 years old and pregnant women are directed to observe 24-hour curfew. However, there is an exemption for those who are working in government or private agencies.
As of March 24, there are 4 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the city, 75 persons under monitoring and 5 persons under investigation. (LELA/PIA ICIC)
