Marawi MSMES earn more than P700K during Bangon Marawi Trade Fair

MARAWI CITY(PIA ICCC) — The micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMES) here have earned a total of P722,140 during the recently concluded Bangon Marawi Trade Fair, which capped the National Peace Consciousness Month celebration.

The said trade fair was spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), Provincial Government of Lanao Del Sur, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), and Bangon Marawi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI).

Various Maranao products and native delicacies were sold by 30 exhibitors who have also received livelihood assistance and support from TFBM member-agencies and humanitarian organizations.

Salika Maguindanao of Maranao Collectibles shared that she is happy and surprised at the same time that they have earned more than P30,000 during the trade fair.

“Nakakatuwa dahil hindi namin inexpect na magiging mabenta at magugustuhan ng mga tao ang produkto namin,” said Maguindanao.

(It is gladdening because we did not expect that our products will be sold and that people would like it.)

She shared that she did not expect that there would be more customers interested to buy their local products.

Another trade fair is set to be conducted on October 15 to 17 in consonance with the celebration of the second anniversary of the liberation in Marawi City.

More entrepreneurs who have received assistance from the government will be invited to showcase and sell their products. (LEAntonio/PIA10)
