MisOcc records 3 new COVID-19 cases

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–Misamis Occidental has recorded three new cases for the coronavirus disease, June 11.

The three individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 are from the Cities of Ozamiz, Oroquieta, and Tudela town where two have arrived in the province via Cokaliong and one locally stranded individual (LSI) via Bonifacio Border.

This was announced by Provincial Governor Philip Tan during the COVID-19 live update following the arrival of the test result.

Tan assured that all of the patients are contained and currently under strict isolation and monitoring. “We will use our energy, resources, and strength to protect the Misamisnons.   We will never go wrong with protecting our people and serving our people,” he said.

Tan said the three patients, who are currently under stable condition, were immediately isolated at  Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park (MOAP) Quarantine facility given that they are asymptomatic or without symptoms and are treated as mild cases.

Under the guidelines set by the Provincial Task Force on COVID-19, all returning residents, including returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) are required to undergo rapid tests upon their arrival in the province.
While these individuals have only a few contacts given that they were immediately isolated upon their arrival, contact tracing is still being undertaken.

Amidst these new developments, the governor reminds Misamisnons not to be complacent and to always practice minimum health protocols such as physical distancing, proper handwashing, wearing of face masks, and to stay home and avoid unnecessary travels, among other measures.
