OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–Packed with love and unity is how the provincial government prepares the nutritious food packs against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for the Misamisnons.
“These food packs are not just ordinary food packs but these are all packed with much love,” Governor Philip T. Tan declared, as he ensured the nutritional well-being of his constitutents.
“Dili ta gusto mapabayaan ang nutrisyon, manghatag ta ug utanon, gawas nga naa’y isda ug karne (We do not want to sacrifice the nutrition of our people. We are giving vegetables aside from fish and meat),” the governor added.
He also instructed the agriculture office to grow vegetables to be given to the people.
As chairman of the Regional Development Council (RDC)-10, Governor Tan aims to attain goal number 2 of the Sustainable Development Goals which is to end hunger by promoting sustainable agriculture, achieve food security and improve nutrition.
With these, food packs are based on Nutritious Food Packs with Lutong Bahay Recipes Booklets, Nutritious Food Packs with Bible Verse, Nutritious Food Packs with Health Tips, Nutritious Food Packs with Pinggang Pinoy, Sample of Menus and 10 kumainments campaign. (PNAO/PIA10)
