CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)—City Mayor Oscar Moreno will meet with officials of the Department of Health (DOH)-10 and Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) on the development of the San Simon medical facility, January 21.

“The meeting will also be attended by officials of the City Health Office (CHO) and the JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) and it will tackle among other issues the operation plan and five-year development plan for the San Simon facility which will be an emerging and reemerging infectious diseases (EREID) facility in the city,” acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said.

NMMC liaison officer Dr. Bernard Julius Rocha said they are ‘very excited, very optimistic’ and also anxious about assuming management of the San Simon medical facility.

“The executive committee and the incident command system of NMMC were kept busy charting the future development of the San Simon medical facility,” Rocha said.

Moreno recalled a presentation made by Rocha three years ago, which gave a peek into NMMC’s long term expansion and future plans for developing specialty hospitals.

“The San Simon facility will attract more medical specialists from Manila to relocate to Cagayan de Oro City (and I’m glad that it is part of NMMC’s long term plans),” Moreno said. (CIO/PIA10)
