MSSD launches Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro program in LDS

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) of the Bangsamoro government launched Monday, November 8, the Unlad Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program in the municipality of Bacolod-Kalawi, this province, to uplift the living condition of poor Bangsamoro families.

The program targets to cater to at least 5,645 poor households in the province who are non-members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P) or are 4P members but graduating from the program.

According to the MSSD, the beneficiaries were identified based on the poverty incidence in their areas and on the results of the social welfare development indicators survey which determines the level of well-being of the respondent’s household.

The program beneficiaries will be provided interventions including livelihood seed capital, skills training, monthly rice subsidy of 25 kg. each, and medical assistance during emergencies.

During the program launch, 121 households from Bacolod-Kalawi received livelihood seed capital amounting to P15,000 each under the Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan and the nationally funded Sustainable Livelihood Program.

Thirty-eight (38) qualified college-level students also received P10,000 each under Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan Tungo sa Karunugan program. MSSD also distributed cash grants amounting to P1,500 and P1,000 each to 38 high school and 38 elementary students, respectively.

Moreover, 14 orphans who are case managed by MSSD’s social workers received their monthly subsidies of P10,000 each for October and November while 86 orphans received one-time cash assistance of P5,000 each under MSSD’s Kupkop program. (APB/PIA Lanao del Sur with reports from MSSD-BARMM)
