CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-10 together with its attached agencies, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) regional offices, conducted the first expanded Management Committee Meeting, February 2 via video conference.

The three socio-economic agencies gathered to discuss the proposed Integrated Database System (IDS), prepare for the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Process, as well as, provide updates on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing and implementation of the National ID System or PhilSys and the Adolescent Reproductive Health project.

NEDA-10 Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño presided over the first meeting for the year.

The IDS is seen to house regional data such as Sustainable Development Goals scorecards, Regional Development Plan Results Matrix, Regional Development Report, Quarterly Regional Economic Situationer, Regional Statistical Yearbook, and other statistical publications for easy access and reference with the Regional Statistics Committee as the oversight body.

Moreover, the PSA has pre-registered nine million Filipinos under PhilSys in the last quarter of 2020 for the pilot areas.

The next step is the rollout of the project to the rest of the regions with expected full implementation by 2023 as reported by Dr. Janith C. Aves, PSA-10 officer-in-charge.

Neil Aldrin G. Omega, POPCOM-10 officer-in-charge, presented “The Challenge Initiative (TCI): Establishing Adolescent and Youth-Friendly Cities towards Reduction of Teen Pregnancies.”

The expanded Management Committee agreed to meet quarterly with the hosting on a rotation basis.

This to strengthen and institutionalize the coordination in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the Regional Development Plan, to engage in knowledge-sharing of accomplishments and good practices, and to discuss pressing interrelated issues. (NEDA 10)
