MARAWI CITY (PIA) — The National Housing Authority – Marawi Project Management Office (NHA-MPMO) conducted an awareness campaign on Coronavirus disease (Covid-2019) at the transitory shelter sites in barangays Rorogagus, Boganga, and Sagonsongan, this city.
In line with the Women’s month celebration, the goal of the campaign is to “empower women especially mothers in our transitional sites to become voices in their communities especially in fighting against Covid-19,” said Senior Resettlement and Development Office Aisah Marhombsalic.
The information campaign focused on proper handwashing with soap and water or alcohol to prevent and slow the spread of Covid-19.
Information materials on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 were also distributed by NHA to the IDPs.
Meanwhile, NHA continues the provision of water supply to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in barangays Rorogagus and Boganga transitory shelters.
President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a proclamation declaring a state of public health emergency to curb the pathogen’s spread. Such a declaration will enable a whole of government response to mitigate the effect and impact of COVID-19 in the country and its people. (LEAntonio/PIA ICIC)
