CAMIGUIN (PIA)–The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)-10 conducted its first session of Basic Organizational Development Seminar for Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) groups in the Province of Camiguin for CY 2021, April 7 at the Function Hall of Ferrabrel Beach Resort in Barangay Lacas, Mambajao, here.
Four OFW groups participated in the seminar of which two are coming from Sagay, one from Catarman and one from Mambajao. There are 28 OFWs and 1 dependent who joined the activity.
For their part, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Provincial Office in Camiguin discussed the documentary requirements for group registration.
The seminar aims to equip and provide knowledge to the participants on the basics of organizing, how to formulate realistic vision and mission statements, create effective organizational structure, maintain harmonious relationships with co-members despite challenges that may arise and to strengthen the existence of the organization.
Aside from holding organizational seminars, OWWA-10 also continuously assists returning OFWs. As of April 7, OWWA-10 has assisted 29 OFWs and 2 dependents after the sweeper Philippine Airlines PR 4997 landed at Laguindingan Airport at 6:10 p.m. of April 7.
OWWA-10 transported 15 of the arriving OFWs to their home provinces while 5 OFWs and 2 dependents were fetched by their LGUs.
Two OFWs from Cagayan de Oro were fetched by their families while one commuted to residence. One human remains and one cremains, who died overseas, arrived in the same flight were turned over to their next-of-kin by OWWA-10. (OWWA10/PIA10)
