OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) — Ozamiz City continues to deploy its “Market on Wheels” to bring the market particularly the basic goods closer to its residents.
With this, the local government can also lessen the people in the markets especially during this period of general community quarantine.
Three roving stores are now being dispatched to villages to encourage people to stay home and keep away from public places.
Trucks carrying vegetables and fruits, seafood, meat, chicken, and grocery items are at a lower price compared to suggested retail price.
In an interview, Councilor Cecile Co said the market on wheels will help limit the movement of people since the agricultural products will be sold directly to the barangays.
“It will tour around the city barangays especially in the rural areas in the city so that the residents need not go to the markets to buy products,” Co said.
Co added that the health protocols and social distancing will be strictly followed during the mobile market. (SMRN/PIA10)
