People’s Daily Forum relaunch on-line edition on founder’s day

DAVAO CITY – May 4 marks a significant milestone that celebrates the birthday of People’s Daily Forum’s founder and how this community newspaper hit the city streets on its maiden issue on July 30, 1987.

Rogelio Jacela Flaviano, founder-publisher of People’s Daily Forum was the son of Mindanao Daily Mirror’s founder and publisher Demetrio Flaviano and Anita Flaviano.

He started his own newspaper together with his wife Doreta A. Flaviano during the letter press days and gradually leveled up to offset printing at their Magallanes (now Pichon Street) editorial office.

Here’s the evolution of the different mastheads of People’s Forum with the latest Website masthead.

Fast forward to the digital age of the 21st Century and the accompanying struggles of sustaining its printed edition, the People’s Daily Forum first launched its website on April 2018 with the help of website designer Sigrid Marick while continuing with the printed edition.

Present Editor-Publisher Giovanni A. Flaviano and daughter Gabrielle M. Flaviano flanks Ar-Jay Torres of Web Design Davao. Gaby Flaviano is the web page administrator while Web Design Davao takes charge of the ‘backroom’ operations of the People’s Daily Forum website.

Today under its new publisher Giovanni A. Flaviano and daughter Gabrielle M. Flaviano, People’s Daily Forum in collaboration with Web Design Davao, relaunch an upgraded on-line edition and hopes to navigate its way through the digital landscape in bringing relevant information to the new genre of readers.
