The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Davao Chapter held two webinars last July 22 and 23 as part of the organization’s role in promoting professional development for its members.
Tasked with undertaking seminars both for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for license and accreditation renewals and to expand members’ knowledge and skills is Vice President for Professional Development, Nikko Caminade.
Invited as resource persons were Jesse Rey L. Meneses for the topic on “Understanding the Statement of Cash Flows” last July 22; meanwhile, Vicente C. Gudani for “Understanding BIR Assessment Process” last July 23.
Meneses is a CPA Forensic Accountant and also a Reviewer handling Auditing subjects for CRC-ACE CPA Review School. Gudani, on the other hand is a faculty member of the Institute of Accountants Business and Finance Far Eastern University. Both very accomplished speakers who are subject matter experts in their field spoke eloquently on their topics.
119 and 134 Accountants attended the said webinars respectively. Attendance to the twin webinars earned 1.5 CPD units each for the participants.
Rossano C. Luga, PICPA-Davao’s incumbent president said, “In these times of a health crisis the quest for constant improvement is a huge challenge for people in the Accountancy profession. Thus, we have chosen resiliency by adapting to the dramatic digital transformation.”
Joseliza A. Eralino, President-Elect welcomed the members and guests on the second day. Meanwhile, Cedric Ian Petalcorin, Secretary hosted both webinars.
