PSA-10 opens PhilSys online booking in Normin

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)—Boosting the number of Filipinos and resident aliens with valid proof of identity, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-10 opens the online appointment for the Step 2 Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration in the region, September 6.

The areas covered in the online booking include Malaybalay City and Valencia City in Bukidnon; Iligan City and Kapatagan in Lanao del Norte; Ozamiz City, Plaridel and Tangub in Misamis Occidental; and Cagayan de Oro City and Jasaan in Misamis Oriental.

For online appointment scheduling, one should go to https://register.philsys.gov.ph/. Those who have already entered their demographic information online, they should just click the “Modify Information” button.

Once necessary information is placed, one may already select an available date and time for the Step 2 registration and he or she may click ‘confirm’ and ‘next’ buttons.

An SMS will be sent to the registrant’s cellphone number on the confirmed date of Step 2 registration. The QR code of the schedule confirmation in the online registration should also be kept as such will be scanned during the biometric registration.

“Karon, ginadiscourage namo ang walk-in clients kay mao man gud ni ang hinungdan nganong magtipok ang mga tao then masita na ta sa atoang LGU kay wala nato gisunod ang atong health protocol sa social distancing if daghan sila mag-anha sa atoang registration centers,” PSA-10 Regional Director Janith Aves said in a press conference, September 21.

(Right now, we discourage the acceptance of walk-in clients because this is often the cause of crowding. Then the LGU might reprimand us if we are unable to follow the health protocol on social distancing, especially if the people will come in crowds in our registration centers)

The region has recorded 1,042,542 PhilSys Step 2 registrants as of September 17 or 97.75% of the region’s target outputs. A total of 526,634 individuals were coming from the assisted Step 1, 2,147 for the online registrants, and 513,759 walk-in (sequential) individuals.

As of September 10, PSA-10 received 195 PhilID cards of which 151 were already delivered, 59 are due for delivery, and 5 were returned to the sender.

PhilSys aims to provide authentication services to government agencies and the private sector with a secure, reliable, and enabling digital ecosystem. (RTP/PIA-10)
