MARAWI CITY (PIA) – A total of 174 households from Barangays Sugod, Barua, Lumbaca, and Raya in Bacolod Kalawi town, Lanao del Sur have received a 25-kilo sack of rice from the government.
Families with members belonging to vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens, pregnant and lactating women, solo parents, fishermen, and farmers were among the recipient of the said assistance.
Moreover, 140 members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in Camp Jabal Nur, municipality of Madamba, also in Lanao del Sur got relief assistance from the government.
The distribution was facilitated by the Ministry of Social Services and Development Lanao del Sur – B Provincial Office in coordination with the Municipal Local Government Unit of Bacolod-Kalawi, barangay officials, 55th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Philippine National Police.
While ensuring that social distancing is observed, both residents and MNLF members were also advised to continue following the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. (PIA ICIC with reports from MSSD-BARMM)
