Second case of COVID-19 recorded in Bukidnon

MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon (PIA)–Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ricardo Reyes confirmed the second case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon after the Department of Health released the confirmatory test result, May 25.

The second case positive of COVID-19 is a 45 year-old male, healthcare worker from barangay Sto Niño in said town.

Mayor Clive D. Quiño said based on the assessment, the patient had pre-existing hypertension and remained asymptomatic. He is now under strict quarantine in the isolation facility at Manolo Fortich.

Inter-Agency Task Force is now doing the contact tracing and verifying his history of exposure.

“Karon gipailawom na siya sa hugot nga quarantine sa isolation facility dinhi sa Manolo Fortich, nanawagan pud ko sa katawhan sa inyong kooperasyon pinaagi sa pagsunod sa mga giya nga kasamtangang gipatuman. Ilabi na ang pagpuyo sa balay, ug likayan ang paglakaw sa laing lugar kung dili kaayo kinahanglan. (He is now under stringent quarantine at the isolation facility in Manolo Fortich. I also appeal to the people for your cooperation by following the guidelines currently in force—especially the ‘stay-at-home’ policy),” he said.

Immediately, the mayor issued Executive Order No. 29 placing barangay Sto. Niño under lockdown status for the period May 25 to 27. It has also ordered the temporary shut down of the Municipal Health Office for disinfection procedure in order to prevent coronavirus transmission.

“Atong himuon ang tanan, aron masiguro nga luwas ang katawhan ug ma-‘contain’ ang kaso sa labing maayo ug dali nga paagi. (We will do everything we can in order to ensure the people’s safety and contain the coronavirus spread in the best possible way),” mayor Quiño said. (BGE/PIA Bukidnon)
