QUEZON, Bukidnon (PIA)—“I am in favor of establishing a vaccine-producing laboratory in the country.”
This was the reply of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go to a question during a press conference in Quezon, Bukidnon, March 20.
The press conference followed the ribbon-cutting ceremony of a new public market where the senator led.
He was assisted by town mayor Pablo Lorenzo III and Congressman Manuel “Manoy” Zubiri of Bukidnon’s third district.
On the same occasion, media aired that the COVID-19 appears to stay for long and since importing its vaccine is a problem, might do as well if we make our own in the country.
“Yes I am for that idea because our Filipino medical scientists are very capable of producing vaccines,” Senator Bong Go replied, citing that establishing an agency or institute for vaccine-making laboratory makes the country equipped and ready as this coronavirus can mount a comeback that may cause boundless damage and loss of lives in the next generation.
