OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–Ozamiz Mayor Sancho Fernando Oaminal is urging Ozamiznons to be mindful of social distancing while in public places amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
“It’s really important for people to realize this is a serious matter and we are all responsible and play a big part in it,” Oaminal said, adding “please understand that our efforts out there … are to keep you and the entire community safe.”
He reminded the public to observe social distancing to keep everyone safe in this time of crisis, as he warned those who are not taking the call seriously for jeopardizing the health and safety of the people.
The mayor also appealed to everyone to stay at home and practice social distancing at least two meters apart of two meters or more “because the virus does not know any boundaries at all.”
The city has placed more signs around public establishments encouraging the residents to maintain distance between themselves and others while in public. (SMRN/PIA10)
