Tangub City to provide tablets for GADTC students, faculty

TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)—The City Government of Tangub will be giving out tablets to Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College (GADTC) for SY 2020-2021 amid the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic.

The city government allocated more than P15 million estimated learning gadgets for students, faculty, academics heads, and academic support heads of GADTC. Such aims to help the students cope with the new normal through aiding virtual learning.

During the Alfonsos special edition program, Mayor Jennifer Wee Tan assured that the learning environment will be good for the students saying, “We will never fail you, we will make it a point that students who will enroll in GADTC will have the best teachers, school and they will have the best facility in order to finish their studies.”

Tan advised students to use the gadgets for their studies because it will help their future. The mayor also urged parents to support their children’s education.

For her part, GADTC OIC President Dr. Mraricelle Nueva discussed different alternative learning options under ‘new normal’ and added that they also follow the mandate set by the National Government.

To address their concerns regarding connectivity, the local government in collaboration with PLDT Smart will provide free internet connectivity to schools and neighboring barangay.

With the said assistance, Tan said, “We also intend to improve or increase internet connectivity in schools so more students and teachers have access to the internet.”

GADTC, being the only local college under the LGU of Tangub, is a priority of the local government so learning will be made easier and effective during this pandemic. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
