Task Force ELCAC brings farm equipment to far-off Bukidnon village

IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon (PIA)–The government’s Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC) brings farm equipment units, fingerlings, and high-grade corn seeds to a remote village in Bukidnon, June 26.

The Impasugong Municipal TF-ELCAC, a task force institutionalizing the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable development brings joy and optimism when it delivered P4.4 million worth of farm implements to barangay Kalabugao farmers in Impasugong town, this province.

Steered by the Army’s 8th Infantry Battalion (8IB) of the 403rd “Peacemaker” Brigade (403Bde) and Impasugong local government, the Department of Agriculture in Region 10 (DA 10) handed over two units Floating Tiller-boat type; two units Kubota RT140 corn sheller, 200 bags of OPV white corn seeds; a Solar Power Irrigation System; and 14,000 Tilapia fingerlings to the Kalabugao Farmers.

Lt. Col. Edgardo Talaroc Jr, 8IB commander said this is part of the municipal TF-ELCAC’s staunch efforts to continuously achieve peace and development, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

Talaroc said.

(We only have one government. The government under President Rodrigo Duterte’s leadership that protects you and helps you improve your everyday living. This unit, together with Impasugong MTF-ELCAC and other peace and development partners will continue to provide interventions in order to reinforce the government’s efforts in ending the local communist armed conflict)

Similarly, DA 10 has turned over to the 403Bde some farm equipment comprising three units of McCormick C110 Max 100 farm tractor with trailing harrow, disc plow, and trailer worth P7.7 million.

Colonel Ferdinand T. Barandon, 403Bde commander said the farm implements will soon be delivered to the 403Bde’s three battalions namely 8IB, 88IB, and 1st Special Forces Battalion as their support to the farmers in far-off communities, thru TF-ELCAC, at their respective coverage areas.

“I commend the government agencies for their unending support to help increase our farmers’ harvests and uplift their standard of living, which translates to less risks of NPA influence. With these actions, peace and development will not be far ahead,” Col. Barandon said.

He emphasized that the projects were realized through the relentless efforts of Impasugong Municipal TF-ELCAC and intensive collaboration with the local government unit of Impasugong, Philippine Army, DA, other government agencies, and generous private individuals.

Barandon said.
