TESDA-10 set to launch PRLEC in MisOcc, LDN, MisOr

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)—To capacitate as many clients as possible and in support to the national endeavor to promote sustainable and inclusive peace, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-10 gears up to launch the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) in Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Oriental.

During the Expanded Region 10 PRLEC online meeting, July 22, TESDA-Misamis Occidental Acting Provincial Director Austolio Igot said after a coordination meeting the mayor in Tudela, the province has finalized the schedule of PRLEC launching, which will be on August 12. 

Igot said the priority barangays include Small Potongan in Concepcion, Liboron in Don Victoriano, Penacio in Clarin, and Namut in Tudela. 

Target beneficiaries will be provided with grocery items, 5 kilos of rice, and seedlings to be planted for vegetable production.

In Lanao del Norte, Provincial Director Noralaine Rasul said they are in the process of obtaining the commitments of partner agencies to eventually set the date and immediate aid to be given during the PRLEC launching in the area.

For Misamis Oriental, Acting Provincial Director Marigold Cherie Garrido said they are currently coordinating with the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army to provide the chopper needed to transport the guests of honor during their launching.

As support to the activities, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10 has requested the list of beneficiaries for food packs during the launching in the three provinces. 

TESDA-10 will also hold a training of trainers to ensure that appropriate skills will be taught to the beneficiaries in the priority areas.

In strengthening such activity, the Department of Education (DepEd)-10 offered their services to aid in the training logistics and provide other technical support especially in observing minimum public health standards during the conduct of the said activity.

PRLEC marshalls new strategies that ensure better services for communities. 

TESDA-10 along with various national line agencies has launched the said program at Sitio Kibulag, Barangay Lantud, Talakag, Bukidnon, June 30. (RTP/PIA10)
