ILIGAN CITY (PIA) — The provincial government of Lanao del Norte is now requiring the wearing of face mask in public places across the province to help lessen the transmission of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Provincial Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo issued Executive Order 07, Series of 2020 on Sunday mandating all residents and non-residents of the province who were issued home quarantine passes or travel passes by their respective barangays or municipalities to buy basic goods or attend to emergencies to wear any type of face mask when going out of their residences or in public places, effective April 5.
Governor Dimaporo said face masks, earloop masks, indigenous, reusable or do-it-yourself masks, face shields, handkerchiefs or other protective equipment will be allowed to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
The Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and other law enforcement agencies including those manning the quarantine checkpoints are tasked to strictly enforce this new Order and apprehend any violator and/or deny entry in the province.
Dimaporo has continuously appealed to her constituents to take the COVID-19 crisis seriously and heed the advice of government authorities to protect themselves from the coronavirus.
The Lanao del Norte Bantay COVID-19 Task Force recorded one COVID-19 positive case in the province. As of April 3, there are five persons under investigation and 68 persons under monitoring. (APB/PIA ICIC)
