June is definitely one colorful month as Gcash is one with the LGBTQIA+ community in celebrating Pride Month. Gcash kicks off the celebration with the advocacy “Werk With Pride” and by sharing how GCash continues to empower individuals, including those of the LGBTQIA+ community.
As part of their GStories, Gcash began the celebration by featuring the story of Turing Quinto. Turing Quinto is a Filipino drag performer who rose to fame as a contestant on the debut season of Drag Race Philippines. The film highlights of Turing’s strength and determination, that despite the struggles she faces as a breadwinner, she continues chasing a brighter future. Turing said she was very proud of the film as it highlighted how GCash helped her in her most challenging times. She also expressed gratitude to GCash as it became the avenue for customers to send tips real time during her virtual shows.
Aside from Turing, GCash has also helped the business owners and entrepreneurs of the community such as Gabby Cantero, Butterboy founder Hilder Demeterio and Jayson So, and Chippy Day Abando & Nariese Giangan of Food for the Gays. Nariese Giangan, co-founder of Food for the Gays, said that because of GCash, they were able to expand their food business and serve not only their fellow brothers and sisters but as well as those who belong outside of the community.
GCash continues to work hand in hand with the LGBTQIA+ community in achieving financial independence through their wide variety of services such as GLoans, instant cash loans for them to kickstart their goals and GInsure, a range of insurance plans to ensure the LGBTQIA+ individual’s future.
In celebration of the Pride Month, Gcash promises that whatever gender one may identify themself, they will continue to “Werk with Pride” and lead Filipinos to a better tomorrow.
