MARAWI CITY – In its effort to strengthen its workforce, the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) hired 141 new permanent employees for its regional office in Cotabato City and District Engineering Offices (DEO) across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region’s five provinces.
Of the 141 newly-hired, 13 personnel were designated for the DEO in Tawi-Tawi, another 13 for Basilan, 18 and 12, respectively, for the 1st and 2nd DEO of Sulu, 7 each for the two DEOs of Lanao del Sur, 9 and 14, respectively, for the 1st and 2nd DEO of Maguindanao, and 48 employees for MPW’s regional office in Cotabato City.
Public Works Minister Archt. Eduard Guerra administered Wednesday, Jan. 13, the oath of office of the employees in a ceremony held at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex inside the Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City.
Guerra said the employees have undergone a strict recruitment process which included screenings, examinations, and interviews.
“Almost 22,000 applicants ang nag-apply sa 215 positions na pinost namin […] Kaya’t mapalad kayo na mabigyan ng oportunidad na makapagserbisyo sa BARMM,” he told the employees.
Guerra stressed that through its new manpower, MPW will be able to deliver quality projects on time to achieve its visions and missions, to fulfill its duty to the Bangsamoro people.
BARMM Executive Secretary Abdulraof Macacua led the employees’ oath of ‘moral governance’ wherein they pledged to serve with utmost dedication, devotion, honesty, integrity, and completely avoid all evils in governance, especially graft and corruption.
Meanwhile, Dominador Gonzales. Jr., acting assistant regional director of Civil Service Commission (CSC-BARMM), discussed during the ceremony Republic Act No. 6713, otherwise known as the “Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.” (Bangsamoro Info Office/PIA ICIC)
