People’s Daily Forum was founded by the late Rogelio “Roger” Flaviano and his better half Dory A. Flaviano in 1984. Roger who used to write for his parents’ newspaper, the defunct Mindanao Daily Mirror, was urged by his wife to venture on his own by publishing their own newspaper then named as People’s Forum during the “letterpress” days of the 80s until they upgraded to “offset” printing in the early 90s. Although they thrived into newspapering but it was a journey with a fair share of struggles: The string of Libel cases, mounting printing debts during its first years of publication, the uncertainty of loan applications for printing machine purchase, a few labor problems, and even death threats not to mention raising four children who are now professionals.
After Roger passed away in 2014, four years after Dory’s death in 2010, his eldest son Giovanni, who was already trained in newspapering, continued on his parent’s legacy and now their granddaughter Gabrielle has leveled up on People’s Daily Forum by helping its website and social media platform.
