OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)—Amid the threats of coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, the Department of Education (DepEd)-Ozamiz City ensured the safe and continuous distribution and delivery of Safe Learning Modules (SLMs) for Ozamiz learners.
Schools Division Superintendent Jean Veloso together with Assistant SDS Myra Mebato, Division Medical Officer Dr. Alice Paderanga, and Division Legal Officer Lawyer Vincent Sheldon Zabala conducted a monitoring on the distribution and retrieval operations of SLMs at Ozamiz City National High School.
“As long as safety protocols are strictly observed, the school is still one of the safest places in the community. We remain true to that promise while following all the safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” Veloso said.
In addition to monitoring, DepEd Ozamiz team also handled the vacant classrooms of teachers who are isolated or quarantined to continue educating the Ozamiz learners until the completion of this school year, July 10.
Ozamiz City National High School, under the supervision of School Principal Lilibeth Abamonga, facilitated the distribution and retrieval of modules with strict observance of the “No Close Contact Policy” and minimum health standards such as installation of hand washing sink for proper hand washing in and out of school, wearing of face masks and face shields, and physical distancing. Apart from this, the modules are pre-arranged outside the classrooms so there will never be any contact between teachers and parents.
DepEd Ozamiz is once again preparing for virtual graduation and moving up ceremonies, July 12-16 in 58 public kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools in the Ozamiz City Schools Division. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
